Casual Attire.
It'll be hot and humid, dress comfortably for being outside for a while with some chairs, some blankets, lots of grass.
Havdallah is a ritual that happens every Saturday night to mark the end of Shabbat and the transition back into the week. You will notice our Havdallah is set to begin at 9:48pm based on the Hebcal guidance because traditionally you wait until you can see 3 stars before Shabbat is officially over. This is Ilona's favorite Jewish ritual and it's always about transitions and portals. This wedding weekend too is a Portal, and this wedding weekend Havdallah will mark the full transition into the wedding day. Havdallah is a short and sensory ritual with candles and spices to smell and wine to drink. We'll sing, drink and smell things.
The wedding will run from mid-afternoon into the evening, with dinner and dessert provided. The venue has both indoor and outdoor parts and we'll move between them weather permitting.

Cocktail Attire. We want you to be comfortable, and we want to look cute with our friends. Think:
Tisch means "table" in Yiddush and traditionally happens as a singing event around a table before the ceremony. It's meant to prepare us (and our guests) for the chuppah by building spiritual energy towards the big moment. We literally have this annotated as "getting ready with loved ones" in our notes. We will all sing together in guided song, interrupted by speeches from our siblings and our speeches about each other. This is the closest our ceremony will have to vows. We will flow from the Tisch into the chuppah.
The chuppah opens with us walking 7 circles around each other, and our Rabbi will lead us from there. Our witnesses will read our Ketubah (marriage contract) out loud to all of you. Our rabbi will then bless us and offer words of Torah and framing. Then close people in our lives will read us 7 blessings that they wrote inspired by the Traditional Sheva Brachot (7 blessings). We will exchange rings and speak the magic words to become married. And of course, we'll smash a glass at the end.
Carpool / Drive on over! There's a free parking lot there
We will provide pastries & coffee, bring any other treats you want to share.
Casual.
Literally anything.
